Academic Coach
The "Play It Smart" program, underwritten by the National Football Foundation, is now accepting applications for "Academic Coach" positions in Westchester County, New York. These positions are anticipated for the 2003-2004 school year and are contingent on funding and availability. The academic coach is required to work 20-25 hours/week for the entire school year. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: the development and coordination of a comprehensive support program for high school student athletes that includes academic, career, and personal counseling, and facilitating community service projects. Academic coaches receive stipends of up to $15,000 per year. The academic coach position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree, and experience working with or a demonstrated appreciation of interscholastic athletics. Successful candidates must attend a MANDATORY summer training session.
